THE NEXT AND LAST STOP IS ATLANTIC TERMINAL.
As I climbed the stairs up to the main level of the station, the memories of my freshman year in college were breathed in like oxygen and quickly ran through my bloodstream.  Brooklyn welcomed me back for visiting once again.  And for some reason it felt as if living here was just another familiar dream that I will always be able to recall.

I went to snack on foods at places that I always seem to think about.  Habana Outpost was my first stop.  I ordered a steak taco, and I’m pretty sure that was the first time I ordered a legit taco since my time spent on the West Coast last September.  And it cost me $3.75.  Oh my goodness, I forgot how much I missed the tacos from over there.  But this one taco I had was so good.  It took a while for my order to be done, mainly because a really large delivery order was being sent out.  The delivery dude came in and said he saw Zendaya.  Haha, oh just New York things.  Anyways, there’s another reason why my taco took so long to be made… it was because the steak was SO freshly cooked.  It was juicy and tender.  Steak tacos would be my ultimate weakness if I were to go back to becoming a vegetarian, to be honest.  My taco broke through because of the sauce and juices, but at least the tortilla was respectfully toasted.

My next stop definitely had to be Doughnut Plant.  Yes.  I can never say no to doughnuts.  Good doughnuts, to add to that, too.  I treated myself to a Tres Leches cake doughnut a ginger tea that I specifically remember ordering and drinking to worship service at the Brooklyn extension.  The doughnut was of course sweet, but what made it easy for me to accept the amount of sugar in it was ironically the thick condensed milk cream that was found within the cake.  I remember why I loved this doughnut.  It kept the consistency of the cake to be moist and surprised me with every bite.  No ragrets.  I knew I should have ordered coffee, because I was exhausted and I pretty much died on the train back to Hempstead terminal.  I love trains where I don’t have to transfer and I can stay on until the last stop.

The main reason why I was in Brooklyn, and New York City itself was to shoot a some news stories.  By the week, I am starting to get more involved with Eagle Broadcasting Corporation, a news outlet affiliated with my church, the Church of Christ.  I did a couple of reports with Leo being my cam op, and it was fun.  It’s the perfect way to grain experiences like these.  It’s frustrating at times when you forget your lines, but I always remember that God is guiding me and giving my the patience and trust that the outcome will always be a success in His eyes. This picture with Manhattan was my “it’s for my blog” picture.

Thursday night bowling should definitely start becoming a thing for me.  I forgot how fun bowling was.  I also forgot how tiring it was.  Good company is essential to having a good time.  Also, the leggings, flow top, easy-to-remove cardigan is well recommended.  It gets so hot easily when you’re bowling.  There’s something about the bowling alley and the blacklight that turns on when the lights dim… it’s like a sort of high you get from all the neon whites and projected screens.  You get transported somewhere else, and forget all the things you have to do.  It’s an interesting feeling, most definitely.  It was a good idea to go bowling and enjoy simple outings like these.

mellow monday

Self care is a necessity when it comes to Mondays.  You have to start your week correctly.  I slept in by accident because it’s been so hard to tell when the sun comes up after putting my thick curtains up (and mostly because my parents told me it was going to be raining, which it did not).  But I don’t feel bad about it.  This weekend was crazy tiring.  Mondays are a great recharger.  When I opened the curtains and looked outside, I already knew that today was going to be a good day.

I started off my day with good food for a happy soul. My breakfast easily turned into a brunch, which I was okay with.  It made it even better because I. Love Brunch.  So I looked at all the beautiful fruits I had in my kitchen, and put together a couple of plates.  I boiled eggs to my personal perfection: when the yolk is cooked through, but so soft to the bite and yes. It was just a yes. And then the avocados were ripe, and the grapefruit red looked gorgeous, along with the way the pomegranate seeds fell from its former home.  A touch of salt and pepper was all I needed on the savory stuff, and it was a very happy meal.

(I really hope I can start eating healthier again… I kind of got off track for a bit, but yes.  I should start eating with awareness.  Let me make that something to work on.)

I stayed in for the majority of the day, hoping that I would be able to keep myself warm and help ease the last inch of sickness that’s left in my body.  I’ll get better soon, and tomorrow will surely be another good day.  I’ll continue to try and play around with this camera more, and hopefully get some good stuff to share with you soon.
